In May, some members of the two groups went on an outing to the Bo'ness Railway Museum. We see a selection of pictures of that event on this page. Seascapes on the next page.

Bob called his selected piece "Spit 'n polish" The coloured bands around the boiler lead the eye towards the brass valve which will be a key component of the engine. Then this valve is captured on reflection in the window on the right.

Les also liked Spit and Polish, but chose this rotting wooden carriage for its texture and the diagonal line.
GL MD

Gillian chose these brightly coloured trains and this was a universal choice endorsed by Neil who added that the view going into the distance gave the idea of length.

We thought this offering from Mary was an unusual take.
SG ND

Sandra chose her "Coupling" because it was a part of the train not usually noticed and it was good to be able to get a close-up picture.

Joe chose this shot from Neil because of the lighting which he found very effective.
MP

Like all of us, Morag had found the lighting in the museum difficult. She was pleased with this shot "Mind the Gap" and Gillian agreed.

Gillian also liked this one because it was a different view.
SD

Like Sandra, Sonia had been attracted by the opportunity to photograph the coupling. She liked the shine and contrast between rough and smooth.

Sue chose the milk churns for the colours and texture.
