We all very much admired Ruth's picture of open water. The texture of the water, the interesting sky and the diagonal angle of the oar combined to make a very successful shot.

This picture too was very interesting. Ruth had used acetate beneath the vase of wooden tulips to create fascinating effects.

Sandra thoyught this fallen branch looked like an animal. Sue liked the curves and texture.

Sandra had put some effort into achieving the effect she wanted and had in fact taken the picture at a distance in order to get the blurred background she wanted.
SD

Some unanimity from the two groups as both Mary and Sandra chose this curtain of green leaves from Sonia. Mary liked the brightness of the leaves and the fact that the branches touch the ground.

Sonia was pleased with her gnarled tree with its branches pointing towards a wooden seat to the right.
SW

Sue was pleased with her old tree, with its thick branches and lacy effect.

Gillian admired the wooden vase and wooden contents.

Anne found this picture from Martin visually stunning because of the position and vibrant colours of the leaves, offset by the neutral colours and shapes of the cliffs as a backdrop. The natural elements of both work well together.
