June / July 2012 - Jupiter Artland - 1 of 2

In June we went on a combined visit to Jupiter Artland. The visit was most enjoyable and we took lots of pictures of the artwork and also the surroundings. We looked at the pictures we took in July. It was particularly interesting to see how the same scene could be photographed differently. There are two pages of pictures from the two groups.

Claudine: Jenks - Life Mounds. This was liked because of the shapes and curves.
Jupiter Artland
Liam: Same scene. Liked for the reflections in the water and the fact that the people in the picture gave it perspective. The angle at which it was taken was good giving a well balanced picture.

Marthe: This was taken of the Jenks work at the Modern Art Gallery. Liked because of the reflections in the water.

Claudine: Liked because of the diagonal through the picture, and the shades of green.

Dale: In Memory. We thought that the tree in the background added interest, with its different angles. Maybe needs the bottom left corner cropping out?

Iona: many of us took pictures of this mirrored wall at the back of the entrance hall. Iona's picture, being a self portrait, but in a very abstract way, was much liked. A striking picture. The samll section of wall worked better than attempting to get more of it in.

Hazel: Over Here. This web was very difficult to capture successfully. Hazel's attempt was liked. She got the whole web in and the colours showed well. You can see through it, but it is dense enough to have its own shape.

Leighton: another take on Over Here. The changed angle improves the colour and visibility.

Leighton: Wren. Back to nature - we liked the way Leighton had zoomed in, giving an unfocussed background.

Penny: another nature shot.
